Lake Bob Sandlin Premier Guide Service with Dillon Lee

What a blessing growing up on Bob Sandlin and in small town America has been for me! This water runs deep in my soul and has been a God send all of my life. I grew up in Pittsburg Texas on the waters of lake Bob Sandlin and Cypress Springs. The love of fishing has been near and dear to me from a very young age. My grandmother Ruby Lee, a seasoned crappie fisherman, started me out on Sandlin about the time I started walking not long after the lake opened! Fishing became so much more than a hobby, and more of a way of life for me. I started tournament fishing at about the age of 11 and have been at it ever since with much success over the years on area lakes. That passion has since then transpired through my family who all enjoy fishing and even compete with me on tournament days from time to time. I am married with two children and I also am the 16 year owner of Dillon Lee Insurance, a Farmers Insurance Agency in neighboring Mount Pleasant Tx. Sandlin is a 9,004 acre flourishing reservoir tucked away in North East TX that can fish to the confidence or strong points of most anglers year round. Other lakes available upon request include Lake Welsh, Cypress Springs and Lake of the Pines. I offer shallow water spring time crappie trips as well. These are a lot of fun for the wife or kids and a quick way to fill the freezer. I also run night trips for bass in the later spring and summer months. Sandlin fishes great at night and you can get your arm ripped off while not having to deal with the sun and heat. If you are new to the area, have a tournament coming up or just want to spend a day out fishing I would love the opportunity to earn your business.

Fishing Report from TPWD (Aug. 6)

EXCELLENT. Water stained; 86 degrees; 0.44 feet below pool. Bass have been better this week, catching them in 15-20 feet of water roaming and chasing shad. Seeing some topwater action in the mornings. Largemouth are slow during the day and only a little more active at night. Slower presentation lures have been best. Crappie have been hit or miss. They are stacked on deep timber and all brush piles. The 12-20 feet of water brush piles have been the most active for the smaller fish. Crappie are numerous on timber and brush piles between 15-25 feet deep and have been best on minnows. Catfish are still really active in 10-30 feet of water and hitting all baits. Channel catfish and blue catfish have been biting fair this week on stink bait, minnows and cut bait. A few white bass limits have been caught this week on the bridges. Report by Chris Caswell, Lake Bob Sandlin Crappie Fishing Guide. Crappie fishing is excellent anywhere from 8-30 feet of water on timber. Focus on points and any timber on points with minnows preferred over jigs. Cypress Springs and brush piles are also producing well. The quality of fish is phenomenal. Report by Dan Langston, River Bottom Boys Guide Service.
